She and Nana and Poppy got to stop at the Peach Park!
And Buc-ee's (yes, it's a Texas thing...and yet there's one in southern Alabama...?)
Meanwhile, the rest of us Boswells drove down through the Carolinas and Georgia. Claire snuggled with the Bulldog at the Georgia welcome center (as one does). She wanted to ride on him but settled for this.
We stopped for the night outside of Atlanta, and at one point, I realized that neither Brad nor I were in the room with Brynn (we were brushing our teeth in the bathroom- not roaming the halls or anything). I mentioned my concern to Brad, and he showed me this fancy setup for keeping her safe. She seemed pretty happy.
Did this for lunch!
We got into Orange Beach during a STORM. I laughed so hard when we got into the condo, though, because Claire spotted this giant decorative turtle, ran over, bowed, and said "Master Oogway" oh-so-solemnly. Oogway is a kung fu master on Kung Fu Panda.
It stopped raining for a little while, so Brad took her down to walk for a few minutes.
We had the most gorgeous weather while we were there. No rain, and it wasn't too sweltering, praise be. All three girls had just the best time! This wasn't Brynnie's first beach trip, but her first beach visits were when she was 2 and 3 months old, so...this was the first time she was aware of much of anything. She was such a happy camper with the sand and water! And Claire and Lily are old hats at loving the beach.
Sunday photo shoot for #sistersshotsonSundays
Love this progression of pictures
Beach baby
Claire's class was studying birds at the time of our trip, and she was very serious about identifying birds that we saw.
Lily's face...
Claire's face...
Bless 'em.
Speaking of birds, came across this guy, waiting on a fisherman to catch something.
Brad worked with Claire on her frisbee skills. She was really quite good! I was very proud, given that I'm naturally, ahem, not adept at frisbee-ing.
I worked very hard on keeping Brynnie and her super fair skin out of the sun. It was no small feat, but we were mostly successful.
The girls LOVE playing in the water; jumping, splashing, body surfing. All of it.
My poor dad loves to build sand castles, and the girls love to knock them down. I think Claire caught on how to "help" a little more this year, but it was still quite the challenge.
Stud.
These bucket hats are more than I can handle. Thanks, Nana!
Pool shenanigans
This girl
She's such a mess.
This one, too.
Lightening McQueen
An octopus (Lily added an "eyebrow" as her contribution)
They had the best time.
As for non-beach activities, we celebrated Brynnie's first birthday (more to come about that!) and went to Foley for a few hours one day. Other than that, we spent our time at the beach or pool. And a few shenanigans in our condo, of course.
Brynn's favorite activity: unpack bags and scatter the contents about

Master Oogway received lots of attention/decoration.
As did this fish.
We had a wonderful beach trip (thanks, rain, for holding off!) with very few hitches, meltdowns, or issues. Thank you, Nana and Poppy!
Trumpkin had such a great time that she tried very hard to stay behind.
