WDW 2022, part 4

Our third park day was spent at Hollywood Studios, which I was looking forward to because of the Toy Story area, as the girls are very big fans. By this point, we were all a bit tired (Disney Tired is a real thing), and the weather was looking iffy, but we had high hopes for a good day.

These Amazon ears were so inexpensive but held up SO WELL the whole time we were there. I was very impressed.

Made it!

We made a beeline for Toy Story stuff, specifically Slinky Dog Dash.

We got her this Jessie shirt for her birthday, knowing that she would need it just a couple weeks later...

Hallie couldn't go on Slinky Dog, so she and I waited for Parent Swap. We watched the ride go by MANY times, so I knew exactly what to text to Amiee to tell them where to look for us.

You can't see super well, but they are the first 3 rows, and they're all looking and waving!
This ride was a super favorite for our crew, including Brynnie!

This section of the park was very exciting for our kids, which was a lot of fun for the grown-ups to watch.

Waited in a way too long line for this ride, but what can you do.

This is the cutest picture, I think.

The theming for this ride (Toy Story Mania) was really, really cute.

After Toy Story, we got our daily Mickey pretzels and had a little rest and snack. We thought about trying to see some characters, but it was really warm and everyone was particularly tired, so we went to see The Muppet Show (inside, sitting, air conditioned), which was a great decision.

Also: I bought these Eddie Bauer skorts at Costco a few years ago, and they were so great for a trip like this. I think I paid $15 for them. I own two pairs and am really glad I have them.

Headed back to the resort for lunch and afternoon rest right after that, and our timing could not have been better, as this happened immediately:

During rest time, we took the girls down individually to pick out souvenirs. We had already allotted each of them $25 and had let them do some preliminary looking and thinking during the first few days, which made this actual buying part pretty smooth and drama-free.

Amiee took this picture for a friend of hers, but I think it's a super cute picture.

Brynn was super ADORABLE while getting her souvenir and attracted a little bit of an admiring crowd of off-duty lifeguards who cheered and clapped for her after she did a celebratory Elsa dance.

Headed back on the Skyliner!

As soon as we walked in the gates, we saw Daisy and Donald!

Immediately after getting these pictures, we had to duck (see what I did there?) into a gift shop while it poured rain for about 15 minutes. We bought a coffee mug. Don't tell me Disney doesn't orchestrate the rain showers for just such a scenario...

Off to the Frozen singalong! Everyone loved it.

Right after Frozen, we caught a Pixar cavalcade! Brynnie was beside herself to see Incredibles and Toy Story characters. Brad was wearing an Incredibles shirt, which seemed to make Mr. Incredible quite proud.

The girls have long wanted to try out cotton candy. We decided Disney would be a fun place to go for it. Please enjoy this progression of their experience:

Also: Hallie wasn't into it. She excitedly stuck a wad in her mouth and promptly took it back out and handed it to me. Thanksssss...

Starting with our very first morning, Hallie had been enthralled with the Mickey balloons families were carrying around. We didn't get one in Magic Kingdom, but Brad and I decided that, instead of getting her a toy-type souvenir, we would get her a Mickey balloon to tie to the stroller and enjoy during our time there. Wouldn't you know, though: they don't sell them in EPCOT, which was our next day. All morning at Hollywood Studios, I'd kept an eye out, and we just could not find them. As we were headed to the gates to head home for the evening, we finally saw someone selling them! We paid $16 dollars (it's obscene, I know), and Hallie was BESIDE HERSELF with glee. She knew it was hers and would not let go.

Transporting these balloons isn't the most fun, but they have hefty weights on the ends, which is a great comfort. And Hallie was just so very happy.

It was a really fun day, but we were definitely feeling the exhaustion. On more than one occasion, one of us wore Hallie in the Ergo carrier, while Brynnie and Lily rode in the stroller, which provided a little respite for as many children as possible (sorry, Claire!). We didn't get as much done in Hollywood Studios as we otherwise might have tried to do, but we had fun and didn't way overdo it.

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
