Alabama visit, part 2

My parents live about an hour from Ivy Green, Helen Keller's childhood home. It just so happened that Ivy Green was staging live performances of The Miracle Worker while we were in Alabama, so Mom and Dad asked if they could take Claire and Lily to see it. Of course I said Yes!

Trumpkin joined, too. Of course.

I should mention that the Boswell girls LOVE Helen Keller.

While the big girls went to the show, the little girls got to watch Moana in Nana's and Poppy's bed. They were pretty happy about it.

Mom and Dad decided to take the girls back to the science museum so that they could do a few of the activities and exhibits that we didn't get to the first time. The girls had a blast! Again!

On Sunday, we went to the church where I grew up (and my parents are still members) and got to see many, many loved ones. We also got to chat for a minute with the ladies in a Sunday school class that donated to the girls' Ukrainian fundraiser. Incidentally, they left with another $75 to add to their fund.

Mrs. Romine came over and was lucky enough to be a congregant for a Stuffie Wedding.

Getting ready

It was really quite something.

Happy faces.

We always have such a great time visiting my hometown. It's always really hard to leave, and there is usually a lot of sobbing in the van for the first 20 minutes or so of the ride home. We lean heavily into the idea of being lucky enough to have things that make it so hard to say goodbye.

Thank you, Nana and Poppy!

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
