Several years ago (maybe 4?), Brad started taking Claire to a community breakfast on Monday mornings at the Episcopal church (St. Joseph's --> St. Joe's) next to our church. St. Joe's has hosted community breakfasts for the homeless neighbors in the area surrounding our churches for years, and different churches and organizations around Durham (including our church) help provide the meals, as well as conversation and fellowship. Brad and Claire picked up their breakfast attendance this year (after the hiatus during the pandemic) and also began taking Lily, and eventually Brynnie, with them. Thankfully, someone snapped a picture of Claire sharing jokes from her joke book with the crew one Monday. I absolutely love this picture:

Some ways Claire spends her time
God bless all of these kind souls who laughed at all of those jokes...
The deacon at St. Joe's who oversees all the breakfast details each week invited many of the regular breakfast-makers to her family's house for a shared supper.
Something else Claire has been involved in for the past couple years has been the dance ministry at church. There's a small team of women who meet weekly to prepare girls 1st-5th grade to lead the church in worship ~once a quarter. It is a wonderful discipleship for these little girls and has been such a sweet way to watch Claire grow in a few different areas of her life.
Last dance before breaking for summer: "In Christ Alone"
These ladies are so special and have been so dear in loving and leading all of the Dancing Girls.
No church is perfect, including ours. But, I am so grateful for the opportunities we've had for the girls to be led and to grow. I'm also grateful that we get to see so many men and women from our church who quietly serve in so many ways behind-the-scenes.
