Brynnie chats: August 2021 edition

B-I-meeny-mo! B-I-meeny-mo!
How she sings "Old McDonald"

AHA! Banana bread. I love banana bread.
As she came downstairs, identifying the scent

I want to sleep to get the sick out.

Sees a hole in Erin's shirt
You might want to fix that today.

I just love to be with you.

I don't like yellow ketchup. Just red.

I have to be on charge!

Brynnie chats: July 2021 edition

Brad: I like the sparkles on that shirt.
Brynnie: No, they're SEQUINS.

Poor ol' Tips.
Tippy the cat that we cat-sat

Erin: You're going to run errands with Daddy.
Brynnie: We're going to Arendel!
Arendel is the name of the kingdom in Frozen, and I guess she associated the sounds from "errands" and "Arendel."

Macaroni Holy Hallie!
Holy moly macaroni!

Rain jacks : rain jackets

Brynnie: I just love you, Mommy.
Erin: I just love you, too.
Brynnie: No. You say "Thank you for loving me, my darling."

Claire: I'm going to speak Spanish!
Brynna: I'm going to speak Carolina!

It's thirty clock.
Pretending to tell time

Erin: Which shell do you like?
Brynnie: This one. The power.
Erin: The sand dollar?
Brynnie: No, it's the Power and the Glory.

Those cars don't have eyes...
She was watching NASCAR with Bill and noticing that they were different than the cars in the Cars movies.

To Rachael
Lily: Thank you for bringing me back from the beach.
Rachael: You're welcome, Lily!
Brynnie: Thank you for doing something for Lily, Ray Ray!

Boosh the Smoosh
A name she/we call Hallie

These are my powers and my glory.
Some of her treasures

By Ma Cherie SENDAK!
Announcing the author of Where the Wild Things Are (which is by MAURICE SENDAK)

At the drive-thru safari park
Brynnie: What's that smell?
Erin: It's the animals.
Brynnie: Animals are STINK!

Ok. I'll do that. I'll say it 20 times.
I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure I tried desperately to convince her that she did not need to say anything 20 times.

There's a bear. And tiny ones. I like tinies.

Miss Hummus : Mr. Tumnus

Alabama : Brassart house
She seems to think that my parents' house is Alabama. The whole thing.

Brynnie chats: June 2021 edition

You need to giddy up, Horse.
To me, while sitting on my back

I got up to walk away
Please don't go! I'll eat you up, I love you so!
This is a quote from Where the Wild Things Are, for the uninitiated

Then I'll not be your bestest friend!
Her current threat to anyone who doesn't do her bidding

Erin: You are so good at puzzles.
Brynn: Yes, I am, my darling.

Brad: Geez, when did you turn 14??
Brynn: On my birthday. Nana and Poppy sang me a lovely song.

I have no which way to get out of here.

Called Lily a nincom-teetee (as opposed to nincompoop)
Text I sent to my Mom:

I just followed up with Brynn about calling Lily a nincom-teetee yesterday, and she said, "but then I called her a good boy, Mommy!"

Erin: Go wash your hands.
Brynn: Even my thumbs!

Playing with our Lite Brite
The pink and blue is striking!

I'm coming over here. Make some room for me.

To Hallie
Don't worry, little fellow

Claire: This fort is a mansion!
Brynn: Oooh! Where ma cherie lives!
She's very into Fancy Nancy and Claris. And we love Madeline, too. We're just surrounded by the French.

Socks...

Moogie : nose boogie

No pants, please, NO PANTS!
She will only wear dresses and skirts now.

Coloring book, coloring princess's shoes yellow
Look! She has blonde shoes.

Erin: Brynnie, did you just tell Daddy that you don't love him?
Brynn: Noooo. My FEET don't love him.

Brynn: Will you read me a book?
Erin: Sure!
Brynn: Will you read Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak?

I'm water scaping.
Water skating... Water skiing

Will you hold my dings?
Dings : metal pot lids that she was playing with at the park. When you clap them together, they ding.

We need to get some tickets to go where the wild things are!

Amiee: These shoes are so cute!
Brynn: Just like ME!

Erin: I need to put Hallie down for nap.
Brynn: NO! She's my bestest friend!

Brynnie turned 3!

To kick off our very busy May, Brynna turned 3! Wasn't she JUST BORN? Sheesh, life comes at you fast.

The big girls made her a birthday banner.

She LIVES for the hype of her birthday.

Claire made her this decorative necklace.

She was feeling it.

Mom, Dad, and Amiee came into town for birthday/Brad's graduation weekend, so they got in on (and greatly contributed to) all the fun!

And true to form, Nana threw Brynnie a fantastic family birthday party! Flamingo-themed. "Fingo," according to Brynn.

She had gifts from friends and family, near and far:

She's holding a flamingo charm for her charm bracelet, as well as a plastic calculator from the Dollar Tree. She was equally enamored with both. Thanks, Nana and Poppy!

Puzzles from Brad and me. She is a PUZZLE GIRL. And she's very good at them.

Craft supplies from Uncle Tim and Auntie Jenna and Zoey!

Another book about our beloved Claris (from Aunt Sue)

Butterfly backpack from Aunt Donna and Uncle JD

Fluffy flamingo purse and fancy sunglasses from Mrs. Romine

More themed clothing that thrills her heart

May 7-May 11 were full of: Brynn's birthday, Brad's "graduation" and festivities, Mother's Day, and my birthday. Mom, Dad, and Amiee were here for everything except my actual birthday.

Dressed for Brynn's party

Taking a "selfie" with her "phone" (calculator)

On Mother's Day, we ended up not going to church. Our church requests that if anyone has any symptoms that *could* mean COVID, that you stay home. Claire and Lily both had some seasonal allergies that weekend, and even though we knew it was allergies, we stayed home. That said, I still had them get dressed for pictures (they weren't so sick that this was a cruel mom move, btw).

It went super well, as you can see. It is a REAL challenge to get everyone looking and smiling at the camera at the same time. Bless us.

We had a great time celebrating Brynn. She's a sweet and sassy firecracker and doesn't look like any of us. We're so thankful that she's a part of our family!

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
