Boswell Christmas 2020, part 1

There's no need for me to wax eloquent about what an unusual Christmas this past Christmas was. But, we did our best to have a very merry Christmas, and we succeeded!

We traveled to Tennessee the day after Brad's defense, despite our original plans to leave a few days later. We were forecasted to get lots of ice, and so we put a rush order on our packing job and got out of dodge before things got yucky.

Brad's sister was able to join for several days, too, and we were able to have a fairly *normal* Christmas! (We were very sad that Tim, Jenna, and Zoey weren't able to join, though.) Because of Rachael's travel and work schedules, we did "Christmas" a few days before the 25th. Unfortunately, Brad's Aunt Sue had a COVID exposure that week, so last minute, she wasn't able to join us in person. In true 2020 form, though, we FaceTimed with her for the Opening of the Gifts (Bill had dropped our gift for her off in her garage). We made it work!

How dreamy and Christmas-y is this picture of Barbara and Hallie?

Christmas FaceTime with the Minnesotans! Hallie and Zoey "met" for the first time.

The day before "Christmas," Claire hosted a family meeting of epic proportions, in which she planned out everything that we would do for Christmas morning. In order to ensure that no one missed the meeting, she put up a few signs...

Ready to get things started!

Claire made sticker book pages as her gifts for everyone. It was SO SWEET.

Bill and Barbara gave Claire a Spirograph for Christmas, and she got right to work:

And Brynn got down to business reading one of her new books:

It was sad that Aunt Sue couldn't join us for Christmas, but we managed to have a good time opening gifts with her via FaceTime, anyway.

The girls wanted shower caps!

They got other great things, too- the shower caps were just the funniest!

The girls were so much fun to watch open their gifts. I was so touched at their sweet hearts that were just as excited about the chocolate from their stockings as they were about their big gifts. I'm so grateful that they are so grateful.

In case your March is feeling just to spring-ish, I've got a handful more of Christmas posts for you, as I try to hustle and get caught up! There's just never quite enough time in a day to get things done in a timely manner.

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
