Huntsville comes to DC! Part 2

On day 2, we went to the Postal Museum! Basically, we did our favorite things while everyone was in town (and to be fair, LK and D went out in the afternoons during nap to do their own things, so it's not like we totally constrained them to doing kid things. I know they did a few Smithsonians and the Holocaust museum, so it all worked out.).

Our metro-riding girls

The Postal Museum is hardly ever full, so it's easy to spread out and meander and have room to move around with children. Our crew of nine did just that and whiled away several hours.

I love this one of Lily.

This is such a favorite pictures of mine.

I let her scoot just the tiniest bit in an uncrowded area...

Envelope tiles!

Scanning packages and working hard

After our morning of philately, we went across the street to Union Station to admire the architecture...and get Shake Shack for lunch!

I love these views. And I love Shake Shack.

When we got back to our metro station, the elevator was down, so Daddy and I had to wrangle Brynnie's stroller up the (very long) escalator. #citykidproblems

When we got to the top of the escalator, this was our view. Look at those trees!

So, so pretty

These next pictures are from a few days after our Postal Museum visit, but Mom and Dad had bought the girls some really fun and special gifts from the Postal Museum gift shop that have become so very BELOVED. These pictures are from when they gave the girls their gifts.

Our postal truck

Owney the Postal Dog (who we all call Owney the Mail Dog)

And a Pony Express pony!

Lily's eyes!

And now, our attempts at some good grandparent/grandchildren shots:

Again...Lily's eyes!

Overall, I'm pretty happy with these pictures. Three kids are hard with pictures, guys.

So much fun tromping around the District with people that love our kids and make life fun for them. One more HSV post to come...

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
