Thanksgiving: part 2

The real magic of Thanksgiving Day was getting all of our feast ready in the skinny, freezing, galley kitchen we were working with. It was a tricky Tetris and timing puzzle, but Barbara was a wizard, and everything came off perfectly! I think Brad and Tim went for a morning run along the Potomac in Georgetown (how snooty does that sound??), and the rest of us ate Brad's homemade cinnamon rolls without bothering to run. The girls had the best morning playing with aunts and uncle, and our DC bestie, Amanda, came over to join our day. She's a NICU nurse and was going to be working that night, but she came and spent the day playing, eating, and working a puzzle with us before that. It really was a fun, relaxing day (once all of the kitchen obstacles were tackled).

Winnie was rarin' to go!

Snuggles with Auntie Jenna. In their Thanksgiving dresses, I might add. I was proud of myself for remembering, back in August, to pack those jokers.

Joking around with Uncle Tim.

Visiting with Miss Amanda. And maybe roaring? It's a little unclear. She's also wearing a Thanksgiving dress, by the way. I remembered her, too.

We couldn't all fit in the kitchen at any given time; two people really were the max it could handle. I don't have a great picture of this kitchen (largely because it's hard to photograph), so you can't really see how the setup is cramped when you have several people and several dishes going on at the same time. You'll just need to trust me on this.

Claire and Lily made paper-woven place mats for everyone, and Aunt Sue made these cross-stitched name cards for everyone.

Barbara's glasses went missing. This is where we found them... Oh, Lily.

We ended the day watching the video of pictures from Tim and Jenna's wedding! And watching Peter Pan. Such a good day together!

Next up: sightseeing and Zoo Lights!

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
