Summertime things

We had a really good summer; we were home in Durham for much of it, and enjoyed being around for meals with friends, park play dates, church movie nights, and just regular life done in a slower pace. It was hot as BLAZES and the mosquitoes were terrible, so it was often a realllll struggle whether or not it was worth it to venture out. So, sometimes we did, and often we didn't. I have a bunch of little pictures from the summer that don't tell a particular summer but that are a great visual of how we spent our time.

If you don't have a towel for your hair...a bowl will do?

Brynn loves and is a master of this Jenny Jump-Up, and the bigger girls love to play with her while she uses it.

Just sitting in their Sunday clothes. With a rainbow-striped llama.

We attempted this activity often, but even this didn't last long with the heat.

I make a "family yearbook" every year, and the girls really love to pull them down and flip through.

Claire and Brynnie have a really sweet relationship.

They found a roly poly to follow.

Lolling.

They had been begging me to finger paint for ages. It's an enormous amount of work to get everything set up, but they do love it dearly, so...worth it?

Sometimes, they all play together nicely!

Tea party for the dinosaurs.

Meeting Gran halfway between our houses!

Chalking up the pavement. Claire is getting quite good!

Total chaos and yet...the most efficient set up.

Lily was taking a picture.

Lily usually takes issue with playing in the same vicinity as Brynn, afraid that Brynn will take her things. Sometimes we have rare, nice moments, though.

Trumpkin and Striped Kitty couldn't be left out (but also weren't allowed in the tub).

Treasures from nature. We always have some sort of "collection" going on.

I hate the heat, humidity and mosquitoes...but I love days with our girls.

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
