June 2018

I'm playing so much catch-up here on the blog. And it's all super scattered. Sorry about that. I'll get back on track eventually. You know, after Brynna graduates high school.

June was our first block of time as a family of 5 without extra hands (minus a few days) around, which was definitely a time of learning and a little bit of chaos.

At the very beginning of the month, Brad's parents came for a long weekend. They came the weekend of Brad's half-marathon, so they were able to see him run (well, they saw him finish) and spend a few days playing with the girls and getting to know Brynna a little more. Most of the following pictures from their visit were taken by Barbara or Bill, by the way. I wasn't feeling awesome that weekend.

Lily got a hold of Bill's glasses. She cannot be trusted with much of anything.

Everyone has a weird face in this picture. Bless.

All 3 girls have worn this outfit, and I just can't handle how cute it is.

Barbara makes an absolute delight of a cake that she brought for us this particular weekend (because I was post-diabetes and living my best life). We told Lily we were about to eat cake, and this is the progression of her facial responses. Please enjoy (and disregard Brynn's unhappy face):

If you've never met Lily in real life, please know that this is her very real self. Always. She's exhausting and awesome. And how cute are these pictures of her holding tiny Brynn?

Grandparents are fun! Much more fun than Mommy and Daddy.

Chats with Brynnie.

Brad ran a half marathon in December 2016, and in the process, he hurt one of his knees, necessitating a break from running. He's better and back at it, so he ran a half marathon in Raleigh back in June. Bill and Barbara took the biggies to watch Brad cross the finish line!

Brynnie and I cheered him own from the house.

Wooooo!

With his tiny cheerleaders

And just for funsies, Brynn had a blowout of epic proportions while everyone was gone. It was a workout to get everything cleaned, so you know: Brad ran a half marathon + I wrestled a baby covered in poop...same same.

But she's soooo cute.

Lily's face. Sheesh.

Better.

Family shot with Brynn.

Throwback to when everyone met baby Lily.

So, the rest of June...is honestly quite a blur. I know things happened and that we survived, but a lot of the details escape me. I took pictures, though!

I take a lot of pictures just for Lily's faces + progression of faces.

At one month!

The girls created a "game" for Brynn: they set up dollhouse furniture/Thomas trains all around her, and she "scored" when she knocked any of them over (with her baby reflexes). Everyone cheered enthusiastically, and this kept them entertained for a looong time.

Locopops for R and KB's birthday celebration!

Encouraging Brynn during tummy time.

How we dress on the regular.

Somewhere along the way, our mornings got beyond our control, and we had to take them back. I looked up a bunch of chart systems on Pinterest, and everything was a little too complicated/required more money than I was willing to spend. SO, I raided the recycling. We now have a bead sliding system.

This is the little dress that Lily wore home from the hospital.

Lily.

Two Boswells sisters at a Superhero Sister birthday party (for a friend...not their own).

Wonder Woman and...Batman "pow?" Not sure.

Father's Day

Lily's faces...

This one's not too bad.

We took these pictures approximately 5 minutes before Brad tripped and shattered a Mason jar ALL INTO HIS HAND. It was such an event.
He's ok now. And his fingers still function.

There's a Chick-Fil-A in Durham that does Story Time with Mr. Cow once a month. We lucked into it in June. This particular CFA is near the AAA, where we took the vehicles for our emissions tests, so I took the girls to play in the play area. And, lucky us, we got to do crafts, listen to a sweet story, and visit with Mr. Cow (we also got coupons for free kids meals!).

Utter joy at seeing Mr. Cow!

Showing Mr. Cow the picture she colored.

They love him so much.

The biggies continued getting to know Brynnie and stepping into their rolls of big and biggest sister. It was precious.

They love giving her baths.

They were closely monitored. Don't fret.

This was the first day I got dressed in not a shred of maternity clothing. Didn't get my hair fixed in any way, but that's beside the point. #victory
Obviously, I took a picture and texted my mom and sister to let them know.

The girls and I have been watching The Bucketlist Family's YouTube videos for almost 2 years now. This summer, they (the BLF) spent a week in the Dominican Republic and did trapeze school. We LOVED the video, and the girls were inspired to train their stuffed animals in the art of trapeze. It was so much fun to watch them!

Snugs with Daddy

Sweet Baby Brynnie waiting on her cardiology appointment (she's fine).

Brynnie Bunny wearing her Snuggle Bunny onesie + bunny ears. As one does.

And of course, lots of snuggles. June was a good month (even if it's very foggy in my memory).

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
