Just like after Claire and Lily were born, my mom stayed with us for several weeks to help lighten our load (which is enormous after having a c-section). She played, cooked, cleaned, chauffeured, made a super hero cape for Super Hero Day at school (+ one for Lily), was an extra set of hands to hold all of the children and/or paraphernalia, and generally did the things so that I could focus on healing and getting into a rhythm with a newborn. She did these things after I had my first 2 babies, but y'all. This time was much more intense, what with a 5-year-old and 2-year-old in the mix. Plus, Mom had cancer surgery back in December. That is NO SMALL THING (also: she's doing really well!). We were so very thankful for her time and energy and love as we began getting to know ourselves as a family of five.
Here's a roundup of pictures from May that I a) most likely did not take, given the surgery/drugs/baby/limited mobility, b) may not remember because of the aforementioned reasons, and c) am fairly certain I have not posted yet.
Before Daddy headed back home
Pretty sure those are her sandals stored in the opening at the back of her dress. I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
Lily mooching off of Mom.
Lily mooching off of me. She's a moocher.
We had a great day watching the royal wedding! We ate biscuits (cookies) and clotted cream (whipped cream) and watched a lot of wedding coverage.
We remembered to get a picture before she left.
Thank you, Mom/Nana! We are so grateful for you and all that you did (do) for us. We value it (and you!) so so much! LOOOOOOOOVE you!
