I'll be in Dusseldorf.

There's this Gilmore Girls episode where Lorelai and Sookie are talking about how cool it would be to travel for business and be able to say things like, "I'll be in Dusseldorf." I knew that Dusseldorf was in Germany, but I never really gave it much thought. On our European excursion, though, we made a stop in Dusseldorf! How very Gilmore Girls of us, right?

On Thursday of our trip, we headed to KIEV (via Dusseldorf...thus this post). We left Germany at 5:00 am, drove across the Swiss border to Basel, took the train back to Zurich, LOVED the Zurich airport (apparently, it's a 4-star airport...who knew?), flew to Dusseldorf, and then headed to Kiev. We were only supposed to have about 45 minutes in Dusseldorf (which I didn't love), but we ended up having a little extra time (found this out AFTER we hustled across the airport to get to our gate). Worked out just fine. Our gate seemed sort of like the airport's afterthought (far away from anything else...down in the basement...), and it was completely populated by German businessmen. And us. This fact was even noted by one of our flight attendants. Ha!

Here's what we had for breakfast (please note the spoon):

So clever.

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
