Our long-time friends, Ben and Molly, moved to Baltimore not too long before we got to DC. They had a free weekend early-ish on during our stay and trained down (along with Mrs. Tidwell!) for a little day visit.
Since they were training into Union Station, I, of course, recommended the Postal Museum, given that it's literally across the street. We have five kids between us, so we were a very lively bunch at the museum!
I love this wall of mailboxes.
A good shot of the "envelope"-shaped tile with the "stamp" in the upper right corner
There are also these tiles that are meant to look like the backside of an envelope!
The Inverted Jenny stamp that was misprinted with the plane upside down
Learning things!
Around lunch time, our crew was really in need of some space to get some energy out. We picked up lunch from the Shake Shack in Union Station and went across the street to a park to eat and let the children run around and climb some trees.
And here's a blurry picture of part of our group
It was only a few hours, but it was a really fun day doing District things with friends. And Shake Shack! Always Shake Shack.
