WDW 2022, part 2

We were all awake by 5:30 the next morning (#hallie), so we were definitely at Magic Kingdom when it opened.

When we were there, masking was still required on Disney transportation. Thankfully, our children's director at church had made all of us girls these ADORABLE Disney princess masks because she knew how much the girls would love them.

Not at all prepared for the day ahead of her.

Could not be more excited!

Amiee snapped a few pictures of the girls seeing the castle for the first time, and I'm so glad she did. Lily's face is so good!

Although...Hallie was just along for the ride and couldn't even see from under the stroller hood.

Requisite family picture!

We rode Peter Pan first, and while we were waiting in line, we bumped into a gal that Brad and I were at Union with + her family. What are the odds?? She saw me herding the children into a line and called my name, which was a surreal moment. After Peter Pan, we rode the carousel, which seemed the be equally fun for all.

We got in line for Dumbo, but our Genie+ reservation for Thunder Mountain rolled around, and we had to jump out of line and run!

Some pictures just don't turn out like you expect, you know?
Brynnie and Hallie were too short/little for Thunder Mountain, so Amiee strolled them around and picked up Mickey pretzels for all of us to eat afterward.
Claire and Lily LOVED Thunder Mountain, Hallie fell asleep for a little nap, and we all enjoyed the pretzels...so I felt really good about this stretch of the day.

Did we eat Mickey pretzels every single day? Yes, yes we did. Would do it again in a skinny minute.

This moment in the misters while we waited for the Magic Carpet ride was *maybe* Brynna's favorite part of the day.

Magic Carpet ride

It was hot, so we took turns letting the kids use this neck fan for stretches to cool down.
Admittedly, Hallie got a lot more time than anyone else, given that it's VERY IMPORTANT to keep the baby calm and happy.

We grown-ups also rotated through sitting with different children for different rides. Amiee was in popular demand.

Coming up on lunch, we realized that the exhaustion, heat, and hunger were hitting hard, so we rode the teacups on our way back to the resort for a rest. This was an excellent plan, let me tell you.

I also tried to get a picture of these girls with Pooh and Piglet in the background, but my phone was on Portrait, so...the background is blurry.
BUT. Check out Lily's curls!

Amiee got this shot for us.
I really loved all of these 50th anniversary statues.

Got a closer castle shot!
Transparency moment: there were hard feelings from the children about taking this picture.

Amiee had a much better attitude, thankfully.

The girls found Rafiki when we got back to the hotel.

We ate lunch in our room (we had a mini fridge and microwave and brought a good selection of food with us) and then put Hallie and Brynnie down for naps and let Claire and Lily have some quiet resting time before heading back in mid-afternoon. Again, this was a GOOD DECISION.

Headed back!

Waiting on Dole Whips

We shared a few between all of us, but let me say: Brynn can put away some Dole Whip

As someone who doesn't really enjoy pineapple, I participated in Dole Whip snacking for the full Disney experience. Other than that...I didn't really care for it. I realize that is an unpopular opinion, but here we are.

Careful...they spit.
The camels. Not the girls. Usually.

We rode Winnie the Pooh, which I was excited about, given that our girls have always LOVED Winnie the Pooh books and movies.

We also met our first princesses!

This particular Cinderella wasn't the most fabulous at interactions...

...but Brynnie nailed it!

We were not familiar with this princess (Elena of Avalor), but if she wasn't the BEST princess interaction! We loved her!

We shared several plates of nachos at Pecos Bill's for supper, which was yummy and also the point at which we decided to start making our way out for the evening, as the exhaustion combined with the People Overload was setting in for many of our number. The girls each wanted to pose with the castle, though.

We also caught a second cavalcade of characters (we saw one earlier in the afternoon, but I didn't get pictures), which was exciting for everyone.

We had great weather and a super fun day! I need to credit much of this fabulous day to Amiee, her knowledge of Disney, her willingness to help in any way with the children, and her making sure we got good Disney snacks. We would not have had nearly as much fun without her! And everyone slept realllllly well that night.

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
