WDW 2022, part 5

Our last park day rolled around, and Claire cried before the day even really started ("I just don't want to leave the magic."). I understood; we really had been having a wonderful time. We had decided to spend our day in the park and then drive north a couple of hours and spend the night in transit, getting a jump on the travel home. So before we headed back to Magic Kingdom for the day, we had to pack up and load the van. It did kind of make the early part of the morning a little bit less than magical, I have to say.

This stuffie Bolt was Lily's souvenir. Found him having a little coloring session while we packed. Literally. Found him set up just like this.

Then Amiee was pressed into Bolt Babysitting Service
(Please don't think poorly of her work ethic...she was helping to pack and load until Lily asked her to please hold Bolt for a minute. She's a great auntie.)

Bidding farewell to our suite

Since we didn't end up riding Dumbo our first day, we decided to try again. With success this time. The girls made friends with this cast member, who was delighted to take a picture with them.

Got a lot of pictures of Claire and me :)

Sitting for snack and a final Mickey pretzel while waiting on our time to ride The Little Mermaid

Kiss the girl, mister!

Headed over to the castle to wait for the parade

Brad was the best kind of sport. Disney isn't really his thing (#UniversalForever), but he was so supportive of the trip and really did his best to have as much fun as possible.

'Twas hot. Brynn's face says it all.

Got a sister shot...but the kind lady taking it didn't manage to get the castle in it...

That little Lily hand <3

Look who it is!

We headed to meet Rapunzel next! We were all very excited to meet her, and she was great! Our interaction with her was one of my favorites.

Our girls have never seen The Princess and the Frog, but they know who Tiana is from coloring books/Disney dolls/etc, so they were still excited to chat with her. She was so very cute.

We headed over to meet Mickey after getting some really yummy flatbreads for lunch. It was fun to see him all dressed up in his 50th anniversary suit.

Heart Hands

The weather was beginning to look ominous, so we decided to get in line for Small World and then figure out a plan after that. (Having checked out of our hotel room meant that a nap for Hallie and Brynnie was...highly improbable. We were just feeling out everyone's emotional status on the fly.)

We waited in line for Small World longer than we had waited for anything, but everyone really enjoyed it. However, the BOTTOM FELL OUT while we were in there, and we ended up absolutely drenched getting out of the park. What can you do?

We took the bus back to our resort so that we could pick up our van and use the bathroom before getting on the road. It was very somber for the Boswell girls.

I can't remember where we stopped for the night, but I think it was ~2 hours north of Orlando, which made our drive the next day that much shorter (although still rather lengthy).

Hotel pics!

We had such a great time on our Disney adventure! The girls felt all the magic, and we grown-ups had enormous fun watching them enjoy it so much. I'm glad we did it. Less glad for the stomach bug that we all experienced upon arriving home...but that's a story for another day.

Saying goodbye to Bo as she headed back to Boone

Everyone's actual feelings

And look who made it all the way home!

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
