January 2021: a recap

We got back into the swing of things pretty quickly after the beginning of the year. Co-op started back the second week of January, so we had to get up and going without much lag time.

My parents got us our very own Robot, which has brought much entertainment and excitement:

I'm just rather glad Lily hasn't tried to hitch a ride so far.

The microwave we inherited with the house decided to go and die at Christmas. Brad and my dad spent a LONG day getting the new one installed on New Year's Day, bless them.

This was very super safe, obviously.

We got to hang out with our friend, Kendall, and her dog several times at the playground across from our neighborhood.

We continue to pursue our plan of eventually turning over all household chores to our offspring:

One making sandwiches for lunch, two putting away dishes.

Helping make supper

Scrubbing

We're trying our hand at getting a weekly family game night up and going. It's kind of like herding cats on one level, but we're going to keep trying.

These two actually can play...

...I facilitate these two in "playing."

Twister is always a favorite.

Just always praying we don't bust open any heads.

We're big readers over here, and thankfully, we've been able to log a lot of reading hours so far in 2021. Some proof:

We started off this semester with a 25-day reading challenge for Claire, which was very successful! Claire logged a lot of reading-aloud time, and Lily and Brynnie got extra books read to them. Everyone wins!

And, of course, all of the snuggling and playing pictures:

The girls had no more screen time left, so they set up the stool to pretend that they were watching something.

Brad made scones a few times so that we could watch "All Creatures Great and Small" in proper fashion.

We FaceTimed with Minnesota several times, so that they newest babies could get to know one another:

Amiee came over from Boone for a weekend visit:

She even joined in for #sistersshotsonsundays

And, for funsies, here are some great places that I found members of our menagerie during January:

Just like that, 2021 was off to the races!

Boswell beach trip 2022: part 1

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
