Lily turned 4!

Lily was the first of our crew to have a Safer-at-Home birthday, so we did our very best to make it the very best!

Wearing the party dresses from Nana!

Everyone pitching in to help Lily read her birthday cards. Brynn was particularly helpful, as you can imagine.

We planned for special breakfast, presents, and a few treats throughout the day. Lily was thrilled that there were decorations! And frilly dresses! And lots of excitement! Four is a really fun age, for sure.

We ended up getting Lily several of the same gifts that we had gotten Claire back in February. Apparently, Claire made those gifts look like so much fun that Lily wanted in on it.

And as soon as Lily opened her gifts, Brynn wanted to try them on, too.

Definitely thought we were going to need to buy her the same gifts when her birthday came around a few weeks later. She's wearing Lily's new kitty cat bathrobe + kitty eye covers.

I snapped this picture of Brynn successfully stacking blocks by herself, and later, we realized that a significant clue to major mystery was present in this photo.

Remember this picture, too. There's a post coming all about it.
Also- how fabulous is Lily's hair here??

Ray Ray was visiting! Rachael was able to come visit for a few days (she had isolated before coming), and Lily was thrilled that she was there for her birthday!

Lily loves to bake (and generally help in the kitchen), so I actually saved the baking of her cake so that she could help. She loved it.

The girls had begun a friendship with one of our neighbors a few weeks before Lily's birthday. This neighbor has dogs, and they all became friends because of the girls' love of the dogs. We were so touched when Helen and the dogs stopped by the house to drop off some gourmet popsicles from a local popsicle shop as a birthday gift. She had also decorated the gift bag with a picture of one of the dogs!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this particular birthday gift.

Brad picked up electric blue icing for Lily's cake, which thrilled her...and made a big mess on all of the children's faces.

Lily told me that it was the BEST day and thanked me for her birthday party. So, even though it was a strange kind of birthday celebration during a strange time, I'm just happy that she has happy memories of it. She brings us SO MUCH joy, and I was so glad that she loved her day.

Just another friendly reminder that I'm still playing catch-up. Clearly, it is not currently July... We made another annual trip to Tops...
